An AI Christmas playlist

I mentioned in an earlier post that I would be talking more about combining AI and EO as in artificial intelligence and essential oils. Well today is something a little bit different. If you listen carefully, you will find essential oils in some of these songs, but mostly it’s just a chance for me to share some of the music I’ve created with artificial intelligence. Part of me knows that I definitely did not write this and so I can’t take all the credit, but the other part of me knows that I came up with the ideas behind it and refined some things and found something I really enjoyed doing. It’s been great for my mental health. So will be talking about this playlist and the person who made it possible for me to even start doing this stuff and then I’ll link to the Christmas Eve playlist just in case you are looking for some quirky Christmas carols to listen to under the tree tonight.

You might be wondering how I even got started looking into AI. The truth is I wouldn’t have known anything about AI if it weren’t for my friend Shawn Keen. Shawn has been a huge advocate for all of the wonderful things AI can do for anyone, but especially anyone who is blind. In the last year, he created the AI for the Blind Facebook group and it already has over 6,500 members. It’s a wonderful place for all of us who are blind and sighted people who are interested in AI for the blind to talk about ways we’re using AI to make life easier for those who are blind. Anyway, a while ago, Shawn posted and started telling me about Creating music through Suno.com. It’s a website that allows you to put in your own lyrics and/or ideas specify the styles of music you want and the title of the song and out comes some music.

I have friends who are artists and a sister who’s a photographer (is also a form of art). So I’m aware of the controversy around things like AI pictures and music. I know for a fact that I value the effort that my friends put into their creations, and I’d never want to claim that my music can or should replace theirs. There’s something about the effort and energy that I value. But for someone like me who’ll never be a musician or visual artist, AI gives me a way to express myself in new ways. Disclaimer aside, making music with AI is great fun!

As mentioned, it’s a new way to express myself. also, chronic pain and depression have been shown to benefit from listening to music. I’m no doctor, but I would think listening to music that expresses your own thoughts could be even more helpful. For me, it’s just fun and cheers me up, I hope the following playlist of quirky Christmas Carrolls does the same for you! But for now, I’ll close the blog post with a Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Have a quirky Christmas
