I had the great honor to talk about essential oils from all around the world at the American Council of the Blind convention this year. For those who haven’t heard of ACB before, it’s an organization of blind and sighted people who gather to advocate for people who are blind. Sometimes that happens through simple conversation and sometimes that comes about through laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act. Every year we meet to have those conversations and discuss our focus for advocacy for the next year.
But talking about advocacy isn’t necessarily the main thing we do. There’s a lot of catching up with new friends and old, shopping in the exibit hall and learning about many topics, all from a blindness perspective. I actually think the support we give to each other and the chance to be at a convention where things are more accessible (with things like Braille and large print handouts, newspapers and menus and volunteers for if you’re lost and need a bit of extra help) fuels me up and empowers me to make positive impacts throughout the year.
This year, I was honored to present a session for the International Relations Committee. I shared all about the ways in which Doterra supports people all around the world in the process of getting the oils from the seeds of a plant to a tiny bottle of healing and wonderful smelling liquid.
Co-impact sourcing is something I always appreciated about Doterra, but I didn’t know much about it, other than that it means that we try to impact the lives of the farmers and others who make it possible for us to have these wonderful resources. In the process of doing this presentation, I became even more proud to be a Wellness Advocate with Doterra!
I’m thrilled to now be able to share the link to a recording of the presentation.
WHEN you listen to the presentation, you’ll learn about 6 oils from 6 continents (Eucalyptus, Madagascar Vanilla, Spearmint, Lavender, Wild Orange and Cedarwood). I created a blend I call Sunshine Around the World in honor of convention and have created a link to a cart so you can easily get any of these oils if you don’t already have them.
I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did!
