Tonight is what I think of as Christmas Eve eve. It’s the night before Christmas Eve and as usual, I’m excited about Christmas. The inner child in me is excited for Christmas and wants to be singing Christmas carols or drinking hot chocolate. So it’s only natural that I wanted to throw in a special diffuser blend.
It needs to be something optimistic and happy, but not too excited or energetic. So I grabbed three oils to make a variation on a blend a friend posted on facebook. As usual, I can’t tell you exactly how many drops of each oil I put in, so just use your nose and create a blend you like. Grab the following oils.
- Citrus Bliss is known As the invigorating blend, but I find it to be somewhat calming at the same time. It’s uplifting because it’s a combo of many citrus oils along with vanilla. It reminds me of a dreamsicle. Citrus fruits can be purifying. This blend cannot be used internally.
- Peppermint can be used aromatically, topically or internally. It’s cooling and known for it’s benefits to the digestive system. People generally think of peppermint around Christmas because it’s used in candy canes. Peppermint is also used in Doterra’s Breathe blend because it can help open the airways. It’s included in Deep Blue and Past Tense which are both used to help with occasional soreness and tension.
- Serenity is the restful blend which contains oils like lavender, Roman Chamomile, sandalwood and other floral and wood oils. That makes it incredibly soothing and grounding. It also contains vanilla. It cannot be used internally.
I love many things about this blend. Without the Serenity, it can be energizing if the body needs that, but adding things like the lavender, Roman Chamomile, sandalwood and other oils in Serenity makes this blend incredibly soothing. I love the candy sweet combo that the blend has with the vanilla, citrus, and peppermint. It’s a great Christmas blend, but I wouldn’t use the Serenity during the daytime. I hope you enjoy it in your diffuser.
