Going back to school with essential oils

It’s that time again! Time for the smells of fall leaves, sharpened pencils, erasers and that unmistakable smell of school. I’m dating myself here, since I don’t even know if kids use pencils anymore, but that’s okay.

I don’t know about you, but all of those fall/back-to-school smells always made me anxious. I wish I’d had some essential oils to help me get through the day. Fortunately for the parents and kids today, essential oils are much more popular and Doterra is currently having a back-to-school sale. on oils to help with stress, motivation, concentration and immunity. Today, I’ll be sharing some of my favorites both from the sale and a few others I’d love to have had when I was in school. even though some aren’t on sale, they’re great tools to have in your backpack or even your briefcase if you’re no longer in school.

Stress

Adaptiv is Doterra’s Calming blend of oils like lavender, orange, spearmint, neroli and a few others. They’re incredibly calming oils by themselves, but when blended together, they pack a powerful punch to stress and anxiety. Adaptiv comes in three forms. One is the oil blend which is also available in a “touch” or roll-on form. But they also have a capsule form which doesn’t contain the same blend (since some of the oils can’t be used internally). The capsule contains several other herbs and supplements which are calming. While we don’t claim to diagnose, treat , prevent or cure any illness, I can share from my own experience that Adaptiv is a really effective option for me when I’m anxious. When I first started using Adaptiv, it was around the same time my doctors were taking me down in dosage of Valium and Ativan. I’d been struggling with increased anxiety for at least a month before I started using Adaptiv Touch and then Adaptiv capsules. The benefits were incredible! I found that I had much greater control of my anxiety and panic attacks.

Motivation and Concentration

Essential oils aren’t just great for dealing with stress, they’re also excellent for helping with concentration, energy, and motivation. The two Orioles that are on sale this week for motivation and concentration are thinker and motivate.

Thinker is a kids blend. It includes many oils, such as peppermint, vetiver, and rosemary. These are all great for focus. It comes in a roller bottle so you can roll it on your temples or into the palms of your hands and cup the palms of your hands over your nose. You can roll it anywhere that you feel it will be useful. It’s a great option for those who don’t want to worry about counting drops and deluding oils. It’s well diluted to be safe for kids and adults alike.

Motivate Touch is what it sounds like, a great roller bottle blend for motivation. Motivate does come in a 5 ML bottle which can be difused, that just doesn’t happen to be on sale right now. Motivate is a minty, citrusy and vanilla blend. It includes oils like peppermint, wild orange, spearmint, rosemary and vanilla. It always wakes me up and helps me concentrate. I love it for when I’m trying new things. If I’ve got a migraine and am tired but have to go out, the peppermint, spearmint and rosemary in the blend feel great on my temples! When I first smelled the blend, I thought it reminded me of a chocolate mint or some kind of minty dessert.

Immunity

Finally, let’s talk about immunity. As soon as school starts, so does the season for colds and other nasty bugs. Also, with Covid19 and the flu, it never hurts to give your immune system. That’s where Onguard comes in. Onguard has several great oils to help bolster the immune system such as wild orange, cinnamon, eucallyptus, rosemary and clove. It has a great fall smell, too. Right now, you can get it in several forms on sale.

One notable option is the bubble diffuser with a bottle of on guard. The bubble difuser can be screwed on top of a bottle of essential oil, turned so the diffuser rests on the table and it’s motion sensitive so when it senses motion, it puffs out a burst of whatever essential oil you’ve got plugged in. Even better, it can run off a battery and be recharged by a usb cable. This is a great option for people who want the benefits of difffusing but don’t want to count drops or deal with filling a diffuser. The on guard + bubble diffuser is available for a limited time.

There are several great on guard products available including:

With all of these great products, your back-to-school experience is sure to be a great one!

If you’d like more information, I did a Room in Clubhouse about all of these products. I talk about them in a bit greater depth. Come listen to the clubhouse recording.
